You must also consider the kind of theme you want to have. The smaller space in your room or apartment will limit your choices to a few good themes, and these often do not include main line themes. It would be more appropriate to select tramway, industrial or branch line themes. You can still go for a main line theme but you will have to scale it down significantly. This means you might not be able to enjoy all the details due to its small size.

Before you start working on that small model train layout, ask yourself if you are really sure about what you are about to do. It would also help to check the measurements again so you can keep yourself from building curves that are too sharp, switch angles that are too steep or sidings that are too short.

Building a model train layout on a small layout can truly be a lot of challenge. Nevertheless, having a small train set is far better than having no train set all, isn’t it?

Don't Forget Your Motorcycle Helmet: The Best Motorcycle Movies Ever Pt. 2

The motorcycle film genre, or biker gang genre, is as American as apple pie. Americans have a certain obsession with the freedom of riding in the open air on a powerful, loud machine. There have been numerous biker films in history and there will continue to be more until the motorcycle ceases to be a viable option in light of dwindling gasoline reserves. Here is a list of some of the best motorcycle movies. Don't forget your motorcycle helmet, kids.

The World’s Fastest Indian

Anthony Hopkins starred in this 2005 film based around the real life story of New Zealand speed bike racer Burt Munro and his attempt to beat the land speed record on his Indian Scout motorcycle. The film was noted for being fairly accurate in the story of Burt Munro, but Hopkins’ accent was criticized for not even sounding remotely like the Kiwi accent that Munro would have had. Spoiler alert: Munro does achieve over 200mph in the 8th mile of his timed run but fell from the bike but luckily suffered only minor injuries.

The Wild Angels

Peter Fonda starred in this cult classic counterculture picture with Nancy Sinatra and Bruce Dern in 1966. He would reprise his role as no-nonsense biker in “Easy Rider” several years later but “The Wild Angels” was the film that first made him associated with the biker genre. The film is decidedly dark with numerous sexual attacks and one notorious scene in a church funeral where a minister is knocked out. The film has gone on to become a small cult film with fans around the world but is largely known as the early Peter Fonda biker movie, and nothing more.

The Glory Stompers

Dennis Hopper, who starred in numerous motorcycle/hippie movies in the 60s, but his unsung role is in “The Glory Stompers,” as the leader of a rough and tumble motorcycle gang who go wo war with another rival gang. The film is a rare and hard to find movie in the genre, but it was beloved enough by director Quentin Tarantino for screening at this personal film fest in Austin, Texas in 1996.
